Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose & Recommend new strategies, ideas, and activities for PMN and its subsidiaries that are linked to its brand voice and expand its outreach efforts through Communication and Outreach as part of the work undertaken by the Communications team. Also, work with the Line Manager to plan and implement these strategies.
  • Execute PMN and its subsidiary’s communications strategy approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Play a central role as part of the team in various communications and outreach activities, such as media and PR, publications, company website, newsletter, constant contacts, press releases, articles, project briefs, social media, videos, editorial and creative services, mass media campaigns, and events, etc. as and when assigned.
  • Design & develop social media posts and administer PMN’s online presence
  • Prepare and help in collecting data for reporting that includes donor reports, annual reports, etc.
  • Plan and execute media activities including media strategy for PMN (print and electronic), Media exposure visits, and media coverage (print and electronic) for the microfinance sector.
  • Tracking and reporting progress of the communications efforts and key progress indicators such as media mentions, social media followers, website visitors, and the number of people accessing reports to the Line Manager on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis or as and when required.
  • Develop strong and accurate content drafts to be used on social media, print media, newsletter, website, publications, etc. to highlight PMN and its subsidiaries’ work and the activities of PMN’s work streams, on regular basis.
  • Disseminate publications and emails to relevant sets of contacts.
  • Manage logistics of and coordinate content development for meetings, conferences, training, and other project-related events.
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video, or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules.

Required Qualification and Skills:

Education and Experience: 

  • The candidate should possess a master’s degree in Communications/Marketing/ or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a communications professional from a reputable institution.
  • Use of social media dashboards/management tools and social/web analytics software (including Google Analytics) and experience translating it.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); presentation design and visual communications collateral creation will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Microfinance, Fintech, and Financial Inclusion sectors will be a plus.

Other Skills:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proven working experience in the social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, etc.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and respond rapidly to new events and competing priorities.
  • Detail-orientated, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellence in all MS Office Applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
  • Should have digital expertise and skills with a proven track record of working in or with the digital media.
  • You should have an expert level understanding of the social media environment we live and work in.
  • Should have excellent understanding of the main social media channels (including but not limited to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) and know how to make the most of the opportunities they offer to build strong digital campaigns to reach out to target audiences. 
  • The candidate should be creative and curious, confident enough to share your ideas, and perceptive enough to encourage others to share theirs too.
  • Should be a good team player, committed, can be counted on to get the job done.
