Job Overview/Summary:

A major part of the PRP M&E department work involves conducting research and surveys to gather in-depth information about its progress in target areas. In this regard, M&E team is conducting a cost effective study to understand the effects of different components (Variations) of PRP CPD model on teachers and students as per the approved work plan. The study is being implemented in three phases i.e. Baseline (2018-2019), Midline (2019), End-line (2019-2020). Each phase is further divided into three data collection points i.e. student and teacher data on EGRA tools, case studies of teachers and students through focus groups discussions and interviews and collection of implementation quality data of SSVs and TIGs at one data point. The key responsibilities of enumerators are mentioned as follow:

Travel from her/his home town to training venue location to attend 03 days training workshop tentatively planned on Nov 26, 2019 to capacitate herself/himself on research data collection tools.

Travel to allocated districts on PRP provided vehicle and perform necessary coordination with head teachers/ SSA of sampled schools where study will be conducted.

Perform a day visit to school for practicing above mentioned tools by assigning grade II students/teacher during training workshop.

Travel to allocated districts filed and perform necessary coordination with school heads where students and teachers will be assessed for selected schools.

Ensure to perform pre-school departure activities as per training before visiting any school.

Conduct student/teacher assessment and classroom observation as per defined sample in each allocated school.

Provide daily collected data to assessment manager/officer or any PRP responsible person as data backup.

Ensure the timely synchronization is made for uploading the data at the end of each day in presence of assessment manager/officer or any PRP responsible.

Any other task assigned by the supervisor. 

Job Requirements:

Education: At least Bachelor degree in any subject from a recognized university.

Work Experience

2-3 years of experience in collecting qualitative data especially conducting Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA).

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Flexible, motivated, team player and fast to learn.

Language Skills: 

Proficient in Urdu, Pashto and English Languages.

Deliverables:

1)      Attendance of 05 days training workshop.  [Share attendance sheet as     evidence]

2)      Assessed students/teacher in grade II as per defined sample in each assigned school and completed classroom observation activity.

Timelines:

1)      Approx. 17 days services of enumerator will be hired (excluding non-working days) during November and December, 2019 (schedule plan, may be changed if required)

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project, implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners (Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management), is a seven-year project (2013-2020) with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of 1.3 million children in grades one and two. The project will achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that will work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: Improved classroom learning environment for reading, Improved policies and systems for reading, and Improved community based support for reading in Pakistan.
