Purpose
The job purpose of a Graphic Designer/Consultant is to develop graphics related to print, social and electronic media. The graphics must be of high-quality, crystal-clear and intriguing to grab attention, create an excitement and attract the users. The Graphic Designer would be required to interpret the organization’s idea of the interactive package for promoting gender equality through graphics contextually/culturally relevant to Asia – must reflect Asian-ness. The graphics will be used in card-based games and related digital component for gender equality awareness-raising.
The Graphic Designer/Consultant will:
· Design initial layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size & style, and related aesthetic concepts
· Design a logo for the whole package. The logo must reflect Asian-ness and represent the thematic purpose.
· Design cards for two games and ensure that the graphics used are contextually/culturally relevant to Asia.
· Design and develop a poster for the whole package.
· Design and develop a short facilitator’s manual for two games.
· Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and develop interactive design.
· Thinking innovatively to design attractive and reader friendly graphics
Required Qualification and Experience
Education and Experience
6 years of experience.
Bachelor in Fine Arts/Graphic Designing or Diploma in Graphic Designer with additional two years of experience.
· Demonstrated attitude supportive of gender equality and sensitivity to gender issues
· Ability to navigate and creatively engage with diverse artistic traditions of the Asia region.
· Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software.
· Clear and mature style of design, demonstrating an understanding of the communication requirements of different INGOs.
· Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes and color management.
· Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms.
· Knowledge of standard software packages (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, CorelDraw and Animation Software)

Total length of the assignment is 30 days.
The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project, implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners (Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management), is a seven-year project (2013-2020) with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of 1.3 million children in grades one and two. The project will achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that will work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: Improved classroom learning environment for reading, Improved policies and systems for reading, and Improved community based support for reading in Pakistan.
