Introduction:

Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) is going to administer midline variation study in 04 selected districts (Haripur, Karak, DIK, and Upper Dir) of KP in 230 schools during April-May 2019. Early grades students will assessed on using Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) framework in its selected schools. Purpose of this mid-line survey is to gauge the effectiveness of different components of PRP CPD.  During the mid-line, student of grade I, II will be assessed using Android based Tablet. Urdu grade teachers’ classroom observations will also be made during their class room teaching along with having a face to face interview to complete teacher questionnaire.

In this regards, 44 short term assignment personnel (22 male & 22 female) are required for almost one month during the month of April - May 2019. Local candidate are encouraged to apply for their district as per district list. During this agreement Enumerators will be engaged with PRP to provide following responsibilities;

Requirements:

1.       Attend 05-06 days training workshop to capacitate her/himself on Standardized Administration of Student Assessment Tools based on Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) approach as well as Teacher & Student questionnaire along with class room observation.

2.       Perform practice visit to school(s) for practicing above mentioned tools and questionnaires by assessing grade I and grade II students & observing grade specific teachers.

3.       Travel to allocated district field and perform necessary coordination with PRP district team, school heads where students and teachers will be observed.

4.       Ensure to perform pre-school departure activities as per training before visiting any school.

5.       Assess students and teachers of grade I and grade II for assigned schools using Android tablet (Tangerine).

6.       Ensure timely data synchronization with data server for uploading of data.

Education: Bachelor degree, Master degree willbe preferred

Experience: 

·          Experience of administration of EGRA using paper-pencil/Android tablet/both is required

·         Candidate with 2-3 Years Teaching experience will be preferred

·         Candidate with PRP/MSI EGRA data collection activities will be preferred.

·         Experience with development project is an asset.

·         Expertise to use Tablets are required

The project will achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that will work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: Improved classroom learning environment for reading, Improved policies and systems for reading, and Improved community based support for reading in Pakistan.
