The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners, Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management, is working with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve the reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan.

Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) is going to administer Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) student end-line student assessment survey in its all targeted regions/provinces. Purpose of this end-line survey is to gauge the effectiveness of its two years interventions.  During the end-line, student of grade I and II will be assessed using Android based Tablet. Along with end-line assessment we are also going to administer Foundation School baseline as well as Baseline for FATA region.

In this regards, 116 short term assignment personnel (Enumerators/classroom observers) [preferably 58 male & 58 female] are required for (16 working and 04 non working days) during the month of March - May 2016. Local candidate are encouraged to apply for their respective districts. 

Total Enumerators required :  12 (6 Male, 6 Female)

Locations: Bajur, Khyber

Requirements:

1. Attend 06 days training workshop to capacitate her/himself on Standardized Administration of Student Assessment Tools based on Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) approach as well as Teacher & Student questionnaire.

2.     Perform a day visit to school for practicing above mentioned tools and questionnaires by assessing grade I and grade II students & teachers during this workshop.

3.    Travel to allocated district field and perform necessary coordination with school heads (whom responsibility will be assigned) where students and teachers will be assessed for selected schools.

4.   Ensure to perform pre-school departure activities as per training before visiting any school.

5.    Assess students and teachers of grade I and grade II for almost 12 selected schools using Android tablet (Tangerine).

6.       Each day a single school will be visited.

7.       Observes language classes of teachers of grade I and grade II for assigned schools

8.       Ensure timely data synchronization with data server for uploading of data.

Education: Master degree preferred

Experience:  

  •  Experience of administration of EGRA using paper-pencil/Android tablet/both is required
  • Working with PRP data collection activities will be preferred.
  • Experience with development project is an asset.
  • Expertise are required to use Tablets
