Program Background Summary:  

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners, Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management, is working with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve the reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan. 

Job Overview/Summary

The HR Assistant will have to perform different HR administrative functions such as follow up on performance management, follow ups on exit management, leaves and timesheet recording, and assist Snr. HR Officer in other staff benefits and compensations. S/he will work, in close coordination with the HR team on overall HR matters.

Major Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities

·         Performance Management including Probation & Annual Performance Evaluation follow ups, maintaining database and plugging in relevant personnel files.

·         Review the Probation Evaluation Forms and forward it to Senior Officer if probation period of a certain employee is being extended.

·         Leave Management follow ups, maintaining database and plugging in relevant personnel files.

·         Timesheet Management follow ups, maintaining database and plugging in relevant personnel files.

·         Health Insurance Management follow ups, maintaining claims database and reimburse staff claims.

·         Updating health insurance staff database for joiner and leavers.

·         Check all received documents and update comments.

·         Assist in orientation for all new staff with periodic; such orientations must be held with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Security, IT and Programs.

·         Assist the Senior HR Officer in processing the payroll including processing of final settlements of terminated staff etc;

·         Assist in Employee Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) management. Updating the online database for joiners and leavers.

·         Foster and facilitate the development of cooperative professional relations between and among staff at all levels.

·         Assist in processing eixt/leaving staff clearances to Senior HR Officer in the Project Offices in timely manner.

·         Perform other duties, as and when requested.

Job Requirements:

Education:                 

·         Graduation in Human Resource Management, Business Administration.

 Work Experiences:    

·         Minimum 2 years experience in the Human Resources function or HR related field.

·         Professional experience with INGOs/NGOs and/or international experience is a plus; interest in humanitarian field is preferred,

 Demonstrated Skills:

·         Proven ability to plan long-term, organize priorities and work under administrative and programmatic pressures with detail orientation and professional grace

·         Diplomatic and strong acumen in establishing positive working relationships with employees and all other stakeholders to maximize cooperation and productivity

·         Proven sense of professional discretion, integrity, and ability to manage situations diplomatically and to effective resolution

 Language and Computer Skills:

·         Written and spoken fluency in Urdu & English required

 

·         Very strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
