Program Background Summary:

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners, Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management, is working with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve the reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan.

Job Overview/Summary

The Inventory Manager is expected to be a reliable professional with excellent record-keeping abilities. The incumbent will coordinate with PRP staff and partner organizations for mobilization of assets/property items across PRP regions. The inventory manager will be responsible for ensuring adequate close-out management and relevant processes associated to close-outs. The Inventory Manager is an integral member of the Supply Chain team and reports to the Supply Chain Coordinator. This position is also responsible for the procurements and deliveries/distributions management for effective Supply Chain support both at Main office and field offices level, in compliance with employer and donor regulations. Key responsibilities include procurement, assets and inventory management, procurements and distribution and warehouse management.

Major Responsibilities:

Asset Inventory Management

Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures

Inspect the levels of project Supplies, Assets and Property items to identify shortages/maintenance.

Maintain Asset Inventory lists with regular updates in accordance to the IRC and donor Policies.

Record regular issuance of items to staff in accordance to its entitlement and to reconcile inventory

Manage Quarterly and Annual inventory counts and checks.

To maintain archives related to inventory items from issuance till entries in asset register.

To develop and deliver regular reports in compliance with IRC Inventory Management.

Collaborate with vendors and staff related to warehouse to ensure planned requirements are met.

Conduct inquiries into inventory management incidents in order to verify and resolve complaints

Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintain them over time

Close-out and Asset Disposition

To execute effective closeout processes related to inventory management.

To develop and execute asset disposition plans.

Identify assets for dispose off and share disposal plan with management for final decision.

Development of contracts for asset disposition in compliance with the USAID Regulations.

Any other associated task assigned by supervisor.

Procurements and Distribution

Serve as a functional expert in procurement operations which includes but is not limited to, Procurement Planning, forecasting, Contracts/PO’s management, material requirement planning, purchasing, supplier selection, supplier management and timely deliveries and distribution of materials to identified locations.

Warehouse Management

Warehouse management includes ensuring goods are stored in proper way, records are maintained, and conduct surprise stock count and investigate and report the differences, if any

Responsible for identifying warehouse and ensuring security & maintenance of warehouse; maintain good filling system and collecting periodic stock reports.
