PSW is looking to hire an experienced senior network engineer to manage and maintain company’s enterprise network. As a senior network engineer, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior network engineering staff and handling advanced support issues.
To ensure success as a senior network engineer, you should have extensive experience working with enterprise networks with high-level managerial and project management skills. A Top-class Senior Network Engineer ensures the networking team performs as a cohesive unit, maintaining the stability and performance of the network. In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.
Senior Network Engineer Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with network and data center team to design and implement functional company network (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Installing and configuring networking hardware at data center and remote locations
- Creating and implementing network security measures
- Delegating tasks, Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff
- Conducting regular network performance tests
- Dealing with escalated network support issues
- Drawing up network status reports (Performance, Health Checks, Troubleshooting etc)
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
- Assist HOD to create and maintain complete documentation (network manuals, policies, SOPs)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, information technology or related field.
- 5+ years of work experience as a networking engineer in an enterprise network
- Professional certifications with Cisco, Juniper or Huawei will be preferred
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, Huawei etc
- Knowledge of networking hardware including wiring, routers, switches and firewalls
- Hands-on experience with communication and routing protocols
- Hands-on experience with data center switching technologies
- Familiarity with network analysis tools such as SolarWinds
- Proficiency with coding languages including Python and Perl will be an added advantage
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- High level problem-solving and communication skills

Pakistan Single Window
Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is an ICT-based system in Pakistan providing a single window for trade. PSW is a facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents at a single-entry point to fulfill all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements. If information is electronic, then individual data elements need to be submitted only once. PSW will connect relevant government departments with each other and with economic operators like importers, exporters, customs agents, shipping agents, transporters etc, in Pakistan for efficient management of cross border trade. It will provide the ease and transparency in achieving compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, through an on-line facility, that will intelligently handle the information for each transaction without the need to provide same information more than once or to physically visit such government departments. Pakistan has committed to implement various provisions of World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement that includes implementation of a National Single Window (NSW) system before February, 2022. Pakistan also needs PSW implementation to overhaul management of its external trade for reducing time, cost and complexity involved to improve its position in various global rankings on competitiveness and ease of doing business. Guiding vision and mission objectives: VISION: Pakistan will establish a world-class automated hub by 2022, offering services and creating efficiencies, to reduce cross border trade related costs, time and complications for improved trade facilitation and compliance. MISSION: Improve cross-border trader processing by providing centralized ICT based services, simplified processes, effective and reliable automation, harmonized data exchange and risk-based selectivity in enforcement of government’s regulations.
