• To ensure, in regard of control systems equipment:
  • the implementation of preventive maintenance programs
  • the implementation of special maintenance, and monitoring of technical results
  • the notification of obsolete equipment, by requesting the relevant elimination from assets
  • the checking of estimated expense for maintenance activities and facility upgrade/renewal.
  • He has to be aware of the financial aspects of the Maintenance of DCS system and give guidance to optimize the budget.
  • the collection and the entry of data necessary for updating the facility and equipment management archive
  • prompt notification of spare parts needed onboard, on the basis of programmed activities and operating conditions.
  • He has to be responsible for identifying and maintaining minimum stock levels of spares and consumables in own area of responsibility
  • provide requirements to compensate deviations from routine and special maintenance demands
  • compliance of maintenance quality to reference standards
  • upkeep of certification and equipment servicing
  • To provide assistance to the CCR on DCS operations. To ensure that DCS Operating Procedures are adhered to.
  • To establish an accurate history of the work undertaken, and to provide record of it in the maintenance database.
  • Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctions to the E&I Supervisor. Discuss and analyze technical and spares issues with the E&I Supervisor.
  • Propose solutions related to eventual bottlenecks, deficiencies, non-conformities to E&I
  • Supervisor and directly to the Maintenance Superintendent when required.
  • To assist in the commissioning of new plant and DCS configuration.
  • To liaise via unit reporting structure with the Company and DCS Service provider.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the DCS provider and if necessary suggest different alternative to his direct responsible/ line management.
  • Supervise closely Vendor Services on board. Prepare, follow and close out the visits with proper reports to the E/I Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent and OIM.
  • To provide instrumentation and control assistance as and when required to the E/I department on all areas of the unit’s systems.
