Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for ensuring the provision of safe drinking water through scientific analysis as per WHO and Pakistan water quality standards and setting targets and standards accordingly. He/She must conduct physical, chemical, and biological tests of the installed water supply facilities provided by PAPK. Followed by comparing the results with the WHO/Pakistan standards for water quality and suggesting remedial measures if required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. With the guidance of the Project Manager, The Water Quality Analyst will conduct Pre-Water Quality Tests of the PAPK-supported water sources;
  2. Will ensure all standards and measures are taken before and during sample collection;
  3. Will also facilitate partners/stakeholders in sample collection and maintenance;
  4. Will conduct pre-interventions water quality tests, especially for arsenic, Biological, and chemical contamination;
  5. Treatment of water sources to ensure availability of safe water for drinking;
  6. Conduct post-water quality tests to verify the safety of water;
  7. Organize laboratory supplies and maintain standards;
  8. Prepare standards and solutions to be used in chemical and microbiological/chemical tests;
  9. Assists the Lab with data entry and Lab documents management;
  10. Cleans sterilizes, and prepares laboratory equipment and material for use;
  11. Cleans and maintains Laboratory work area;
  12. Perform routine calibration and verification of meters and other Lab equipment;
  13. Periodic analysis of the results and furnishing of graphical analysis reports.
  14. Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor or senior Leadership of the organization.

 Qualification:

  1. Bachelor/Graduate degree in Environmental/Management/Development sciences, Public Health Engineering sciences, or Equivalent.
  2. Certification/Diploma of Certified Test Engineer (CSTE), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST), etc.
  3. Any other relevant qualification will be a Plus.

Required Experience:

  1. Three (3) to Five (5) years of proven experience with National and/or International NGOs in the same role.
  2. Experience in WASHPATS, CLTS, SLTS, DRR, and development projects.
  3. Having excellent knowledge of support functions (HR, Procurement, Compliance, and M&E).
  4. Having high-level computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, and data management)
  5. Excellent report writing and brief project skills.
  6. Having excellent knowledge of Beneficiaries and program participants Safeguarding.
  7. Awareness of UNICEF operational policies and procedures desired. 
  8. Experience working on UNICEF projects is added advantage.

Travel Requirement:

  1. The job requires approximately 50% to 70% to travel to carry out assigned responsibilities within the coverage area (DG Khan Division).
  2. Traveling to field areas is a significant responsibility so, the candidate must be willing and able to travel.
