The basic principle of hydropower is that, if water is piped from a certain level to a lower level, the resulting water pressure can be used to do work. This work is a practical implementation of the theory of hydropower generation. This project considers the design and power capacity analysis of mega hydropower plant at Chatter Kalas. During internship period, we collected the hydrological data of the site like the Alternator rating , Transformer Rating , Measured Head Value , Protection Scheme .

There is a rapid exhaustion of renewable energy sources which were used in past for electricity generation and the hitch of accessibility of the grid supply to remote areas was an obstinate challenge. The foremost restorative measure in this situation is to make use of available natural resources for the generation of electricity. In an attempt towards this end, our project has been designed for the electrification of nearby population which is in hilly areas of Hana urak near Quetta city. The site at Hana urak is a kind of remote location to which the supply of electricity is a big challenge. This project considers the design and power capacity analysis of micro-hydropower plant at Wali Tangi dam. This site is blessed with a natural flow of water from plenty of founts throughout the year. In Balochistan micro-hydel power station are not initiated yet. However, there is good scope of development of such projects specially in the Western Baluchistan. The project report covers the power capacity analysis and designing of a hydraulic turbine along with the selection of generator with suitable protection scheme for the selected site based on the calculations performed on the acquired data.
