The Company
PetroChina International Pakistan (Private) Limited is a subsidiary of PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina). The Company manages and organizes international trade of crude oil, refined products, natural gas, petrochemicals and other related businesses.
The Position
This is a business manager position based in the Karachi, Pakistan with a primary focus on trading (including investment) opportunities in the Pakistan oil & gas sector. As a business manager with relative experience in energy industry, the role will have a substantive global support and coordination. The position is mainly based in Karachi, but is also required to travel to other cities in Pakistan or other countries if work required.
The Responsibilities
- Establish and foster relationships with government, ports, operation companies and end users of oil & gas, suggest the opportunities of trading (including investment) in oil & gas sector.
- Originate the trading business for PetroChina mainly in Pakistan for Crude Oil, Natural Gas (incl. LNG), Refined Products and Petrochemicals.
- Collect market information, actively participate in market investigation and forecasting, draft the marketing plan and set the business goal together with the team.
- Follow up the change of market situation and customers’ demand/requirements, to find solutions on customers’ requirements and difficulties.
- Cooperate with trading team and operation team to communicate with customers, and provide the team with their requirements and related information. Deeply communicate with the customers to find trading chances and work together with the team for the trading process.
- In charge of the maintenance of current contracts’ execution and the renewals; monitor the operation, payment and other related items of the deals done with customers, and assist trading/finance team to deal with the reimbursement and other related affairs.
- Fully participate in the tender process on behalf of the related entities of the company.
- In charge of the marketing affairs and compile related reports.
- Ensure PetroChina QHSSE Polices, and ensure all company activities adhere to legal and internal guidelines and policies.
- Any other duties as assigned.
The Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or higher qualification in Economics, Business or Finance or Legal or Petroleum & Gas related major.
- Prefer to have more than 3 years’ experience in business developing of oil and gas industry in Pakistan, with knowledge of investment in the Pakistan energy market.
- With relative working relationships across the oil & gas sectors.
- High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled negotiator with good influencing skills.
- Working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations.
- Demonstrable analytical thinking & business insight.
