The Store Keeper will oversee the proper handling and storage of stock, maintain accurate records, coordinate supply chain activities, and communicate effectively with vendors to sustain optimal stock levels.
As the Restaurant Store Keeper, you will be responsible for monitoring incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring the use of appropriate inventory management techniques including the First In First Out (FIFO) method, and managing procurement processes to meet the restaurants operational demands. While this position does not involve team management, it requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use technology such as POS systems and inventory management software to support efficient storekeeping and order processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using appropriate inventory management software.
- Monitor stock levels closely and execute timely stock replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Apply First In First Out (FIFO) methodology rigorously to ensure product freshness and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to schedule deliveries, negotiate terms, and follow up on orders.
- Operate and manage Point of Sale (POS) systems to log inventory transactions and facilitate smooth stock movement.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies promptly.
- Manage purchase order creation and track procurement cycles to align with restaurant demands.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the stock storage area to comply with health and safety standards.
- Support financial controls by ensuring all stock transactions are logged accurately and documentation is maintained for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Assist in supply chain coordination to optimize inventory flow between purchasing, storage, and kitchen teams.
- Address and resolve any stock control issues proactively to minimize impact on restaurant operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding inventory management and stock handling.
