In this role, the Orthopedic Surgeon actively participates in clinical decision-making, treatment planning, and postoperative care to optimize patient outcomes. The role requires an in-depth understanding of orthopedic trauma care and the ability to stabilize bone fractures using both innovative internal and external fixation methods. The Surgeon is accountable for maintaining compliance with medical standards and protocols as prescribed by the Public Service Commission and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Effective leadership and management of the multidisciplinary team are crucial aspects, as the Surgeon will coordinate efforts to facilitate seamless patient flow, maintain surgical schedules, and oversee the professional development of team members. Commitment to continuous education, updating clinical skills, and adherence to ethical treatment standards are essential to succeeding in this position.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic disorders including trauma, fractures, deformities, and joint diseases using surgical and non-surgical methods.
- Perform orthopedic surgical procedures such as arthroscopy, internal fixation, and external fixation with precision and adherence to best surgical practices.
- Stabilize bone fractures through appropriate surgical interventions to ensure optimal healing and functional recovery.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of 20 healthcare staff, including nurses and junior surgeons, to deliver coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations, medical histories, and diagnostic imaging studies.
- Ensure all surgical activities comply with established regulatory guidelines and institutional policies, particularly those issued by the Public Service Commission and PMDC.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, surgical notes, and post-operative reports for all patients.
- Conduct regular training sessions and mentoring for team members to improve clinical skills and promote professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with other medical specialists to provide comprehensive patient care and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Monitor patients’ progress during post-operative care and adjust treatment plans as necessary to promote recovery and prevent complications.
- Participate in continuous medical education programs to stay updated on the latest orthopedic surgical techniques and trauma care innovations.
- Evaluate and manage emergency orthopedic cases with decisive action to stabilize patients and prevent long-term disability.
- Ensure availability and readiness of surgical equipment and materials required for various orthopedic procedures.
- Promote a safe and hygienic operating room environment in compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

The root causes of current unrest in whole country especially FATA and FRS are linked with the absence of the opportunities for youth in all sections of life in general and particular in livelihoods. Active participation of the youth in decision making and development of the area is neglected and never given a chance to decide their fate. This made youth of the area frustrated and restless and compelled them to take part in the unhealthy activities. Poverty and the lack of modern curriculum have proved destabilizing factors for Pakistani society as these causes our youth to be exploited by religious organizations banned by the government to run schools and produce militant literature. Eradication of poverty cannot be brought about by charity, but needs first and foremost empowering the poor, focusing on women, and tapping their tremendous potential.
