The Physician at Poverty Eradication Initiative (PEI) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care through comprehensive clinical diagnosis, effective medication prescribing, and precise medical record documentation. This position requires proficiency in clinical examination techniques and emergency response procedures, including Advanced Trauma Life Support and Emergency Medical Services protocols. The Physician optimizes patient care workflows using Clinical Decision Support Systems to ensure timely and accurate treatment. This role involves managing a dedicated team of 10 healthcare professionals, fostering a collaborative environment focused on positive patient health outcomes and continuous improvement in clinical services.
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of five years of experience and holds a valid PMDC registration number, preferably with FCPS qualification. In cases where FCPS qualifications are unavailable, candidates meeting the Public Service Commission's criteria will be considered. Newly qualified FCPS candidates must provide a congratulatory letter from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. The Physician contributes to the Poverty Eradication Initiatives mission by providing exemplary medical care, participating in emergency response efforts, and ensuring adherence to best practices and relevant clinical protocols to support community health and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient physical and cardiovascular examinations to accurately diagnose medical conditions.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient history.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records following organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and apply Advanced Trauma Life Support and Emergency Medical Services protocols.
- Utilize Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) to enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve patient care workflows.
- Optimize clinical processes to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery within the healthcare setting.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of 10 healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and stakeholders to develop strategies for poverty-related health challenges.
- Stay updated on medical advancements and best practices to continually improve patient care quality.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including verification of PMDC registration and adherence to Public Service Commission standards.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to maintain professional competency and certification requirements.
- Promote a patient-centered approach focusing on empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and healthcare policies within the organization.
- Manage patient care workflows to reduce wait times and enhance treatment effectiveness.
- Support data collection and reporting efforts to monitor healthcare outcomes and inform program improvements.

Poverty is the root cause of every problem in the society, has no doubts worse affects on human life. Traditional gender roles in Pakistan especially in NWFP, which remains indulged in tribal culture, define the woman’s place as in the home and not in the workplace, and define the man as the breadwinner. Consequently, the society invests far less in women than men. Women in NWFP suffer more from poverty of opportunities throughout their lives as compared to other provinces. Economic vulnerability is a key factor in the rise of poverty in Pakistan; vulnerability also arises from social powerlessness, political instability, and ill-functioning institutions. Corruption and political instabilities such as various separatist movements in Baluchistan and Waziristan resulted in reduction of business confidence, deterioration of economic growth, reduced public expenditure, poor delivery of public services, and undermining of the rule of law. The root causes of current unrest in whole country especially FATA and FRS are linked with the absence of the opportunities for youth in all sections of life in general and particular in livelihoods. Active participation of the youth in decision making and development of the area is neglected and never given a chance to decide their fate. This made youth of the area frustrated and restless and compelled them to take part in the unhealthy activities. Poverty and the lack of modern curriculum have proved destabilizing factors for Pakistani society as these causes our youth to be exploited by religious organizations banned by the government to run schools and produce militant literature. Eradication of poverty cannot be brought about by charity, but needs first and foremost empowering the poor, focusing on women, and tapping their tremendous potential.
