Job Description

  • Establish and maintain strong linkages with local chamber of commerce, associations, industry & employers for apprenticeships and job placement (paid & self-employment) for the local youth of PYWD districts
  • Liaise with training institutes and ensure that the skills are imparted as per industry requirements
  • Prepare and regularly update a database of potential employers with their requisite demands of skilled labor and share findings with PPICB department on weekly/monthly basis
  • Arrange placements (apprenticeships, self-employment and paid-employment) for local youth and support them with the placement process
  • Carry out industrial/work set-up visits to monitor the progress of PYWD trainees and health and safety issues relating to work settings and effectively manage grievance if there are any
  • Draft placement documents relating to work place settings (traineeship, apprenticeship etc.) and assist employer with the completion of documentation
  • Respond to all placement related queries and correspondence in coordination with career counseling centers and regularly update PPICB department
  • Create and implement strategies for the development of partnerships with the private sector, public sector entities, and other non-governmental entities as required to achieve planned project results and enhance contract outcomes.
  • Ensure all partner employers adhere to all corporate and safety laws, policies, practices and standards set by the provincial government for apprentices
  • Develop, manage and assist in career counselling services, job search assistance, counselling and apprenticeship opportunities in coordination with career counselling centers established at all partner training institutes
  • Document all project activities, track of youth placement in jobs and apprenticeship, analyze data and present periodic reports to the Placement, Partnership and Institutional Capacity Building Department
  • Create and strengthen market linkages with employers and local/provincial industry for the promotion of entrepreneurship and self-employment
  • Screen and refer potential candidates in coordination with regional PYWD project team to Placement, Partnership and Institutional Capacity Building Department for provision of interest free loan
  • Liaise with partner MFI to track the progress of youth availed interest free loans for establishing business/entrepreneurship

·         Facilitate the project efforts to create and expand the linkages between partner training providers and relevant employers for internship, traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities

·         Organize workshops/sessions on resume writing, interviewing skills, careers counselling, experiences sharing and other related topics in coordination with career counselling centers and PYWD project team

·         Support the partner training institutes to develop and enhance the outreach of web/ mobile based systems for job seekers and employers to apply for/fill employment vacancies

·         Organize and participate in job fairs, employers’ forums, invite employers and other relevant stakeholders for apprenticeship/job opportunities (paid & self-employment) and provide a platform to youth for direct interaction with employers for sustainable placements

  • Any other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned by PYWD project.
