Summary

  • As part of the Supply Chain team, the Production Scheduler is responsible for daily production scheduling for our Client in Romania.
  • The position involves frequent interaction with procurement, customer service, product development, and production departments to interpret and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team, the successful candidate will be detail-oriented, demonstrate results, driven, hands-on attitude along with the ability to think on their feet and work well under pressure.

Principal Accountabilities;

  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Ongoing interaction with production, sales, customer service, R&D, and Engineering teams to determine and satisfy customer requirements and priorities.
  • Reviews forecasts, incorporating them into the production planning and scheduling process.
  • Creates and maintains a daily master production schedule which balances the workload to maximize operation efficiency, output, and customer due dates.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, equipment, tools and resource requirements.
  • Provides planning solutions for any materials shortages, equipment downtime, or other constraints. Develops action plans as required to ensure the production is successful.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability.
  • Reviews and runs MRP system daily, converting planned orders into process orders and purchase requisitions.
  • Helps set minimum and maximum inventories for raw materials, WIP and finished materials.
  • Evaluate internal manufacturing constraints and develop proposals and plans to maintain level, efficient production.
  • Investigate production variations through data collection to develop root cause analysis and recovery plans.
  •  Prepares production reports.
  •  Works with IT to implement / Improve MRP.
  •  Contribute to other committees or initiatives as needed.
  •   Involvement in key continuous improvement projects such as established by the company.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  •  3 - 5 years of related experience in manufacturing with at least 5 years in Production Planning functions.
  •  Excellent computer literacy and previous experience with automated scheduling systems (ERP / MRP).
  •  Relevant degree/diploma in a related field (Materials Management, Business, or Engineering).
  •  Experience and familiarization with manufacturing processes and planning tools.
  •   Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  •  Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  •  Strong understanding and implementation experience with Lean concepts and tools.
