Prime Cargo Services seeks a dedicated Import Customs Clearing Executive to efficiently manage and oversee the customs clearance process for inbound shipments. The ideal candidate demonstrates a thorough understanding of import-export laws and customs regulations, ensuring compliance and timely clearance of goods. This role involves working extensively with customs documentation, tariff classifications, and import duty calculations to facilitate smooth cargo movement. The position requires handling customs management software and import duty calculation software, along with expertise in shipment coordination and monitoring to maintain seamless logistics operations. The executive will manage a team of eight persons, guiding and supporting them in managing clearance procedures and addressing regulatory challenges to meet company standards and client expectations. As an Import Customs Clearing Executive, the incumbent is responsible for creating and processing Government Documents (GD's), applying accurate HS code classification, and interpreting SROs and other legal directives that impact import tariffs and duty calculations. Familiarity with WEBOC and PSW systems is key, requiring the candidate to bring hands-on experience in these platforms to support efficient customs filings and records management. The role demands attention to detail and effective communication to coordinate shipment tracking and monitor all import activities, guaranteeing compliance and cost-effective customs operations. The executive must keep abreast of changes in customs regulations and tariff updates, advising the team and refining processes accordingly to maintain regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process all necessary customs documentation for import shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize customs management and import duty calculation software to calculate applicable duties and tariffs correctly.
  • Classify imported goods accurately through HS code classification to determine appropriate import duties and tariffs.
  • Manage and coordinate shipment tracking, monitoring cargo status from origin to destination to ensure timely clearance.
  • Work extensively with WEBOC and PSW systems to file import documentation and reports for governmental compliance.
  • Create and process Government Documents (GD's) in line with customs stipulations, maintaining meticulous records and data integrity.
  • Stay updated with import-export laws, custom tariff schedules, SRO's, and other legal orders, providing guidance to the team.
  • Oversee the customs clearance workflow, ensuring efficient processing and minimizing delays and penalties.
  • Lead and manage a team of eight personnel, providing training, supervision, and support to enhance team productivity.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and legal departments to resolve issues related to customs clearance.
  • Advise on tariff and duty calculation intricacies to optimize import costs and compliance.
  • Implement improvements in customs clearing procedures to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure all customs activities adhere to company policies, international trade laws, and governmental guidelines.
