ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
The School Principal will be responsible for:
- Participating collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of the District’s Leadership Team
- Developing a learning community based on interpersonal trust, collaboration, and interdependence
- Leading a school based integrated leadership team focussed on ensuring the learning success of each student through excellent instructional and assessment practices
-Maintaining a safe and caring school environment that focuses on personalized learning for each student
-Facilitating the development and implementation of effective curricular, co‐curricular and extra curricular programs and professional and staff development initiatives
-Working cooperatively with parents in support of improving student learning, developing a positive school culture that will assist students in becoming responsible young citizens ready to contribute positively to society
-Leading and supervising instruction and assessment throughout the school
-Supervising all school based staff in a respectful and professional manner to ensure excellent performance and professional growth
- Managing of all school based resources and budgets in a fiscally responsible manner
-Implementing school based plans focussed on improving student achievement
-Collaborating with community agencies in support of student success and district initiatives QUALIFICATIONS The successful applicant will possess superior interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills, conflict resolution experience, a collaborative management style and have demonstrated organizational and planning abilities in addition to:
-An advanced degree, preferably in Educational Leadership, Supervision of Instruction, Curriculum Development or Administration
-A minimum of 5 years successful public school experience in school or district based administration
-Demonstrated skills in community involvement and public relations, including the ability to work cooperatively with parent and community service agencies and programs
-Demonstrated successful teaching experience
-Demonstrated understanding of current educational trends including personalizing learning, effective instructional design and assessment practices
-Demonstrated experience leading student achievement initiatives
-Evidence of ongoing professional development
-Demonstrated knowledge of educational uses of technology and administrative software systems
