Position:         Project Communication Assistant  

Location:         Peshawar, Pakistan

Reports to:      Project Coordinator, RI Pakistan (Position is Contingent upon award of funds)

Position Summary:

The post holder will be responsible to assist in developing and implementing RI communication strategy. The incumbent will be responsible to follow activities in field and showcase field reflections in form photos, video clips and stories. Develop project communication materials, identify and draft success stories, case studies. Facilitate team in developing and designing project IEC (Information Education, Communication) material and project visibility material. Develop project dash-boards and pamphlets to capture projects impact. 

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:

1-      Communicates regularly with program and field staff as well as other departments on ongoing and planned program development efforts, specific support needs and field staff capacity building requirements.

2-      Conduct field visits, witness project activities and capture activities photos

3-      Closely liaise with field staff, develop case studies and highlight changes in beneficiaries’ lives.

4-      Assist and contribute in development of Communication strategy

5-      Showcase project activities, photos, videos and achievements

6-      Assist Project Coordinators in developing project dashboards, charts and one-pagers

7-      Contribute in developing project based IEC material and advise on dissemination tools

8-      Develop narrative case studies, activities video clips and success stories

9-      Develop, write and edit communications materials, including press releases, blog posts and social media content

10-  Liaise with program to identify stories of impact. Travel to field sites to collect testimonials, success stories.

11-  Design high quality presentations and support country teams to develop tools and content needed to meet institutional donor reports.

12-  Proactively promote communications materials through appropriate social channels

13-  Ensure that all communications material aligns with donor and organizational brand standards

14-  Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos

Qualifications & Requirements:

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in demanding and often difficult environments.

  • Master Degree in Communications, Literature, Art, or any relevant degree in  social sciences
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program design, development, and communications, most notably for UN, USAID, and other institutional donors.
  • Experience in working through a partnership approach with national NGOs.
  • Design and implementation of programs in fragile states and for refugee and IDP populations.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment. Proven willingness to make timely and sound decisions based on accurate judgment.
  • High level English verbal and written communications skills.

·         Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness, with strong attention to detail and an ability to work virtually with team members spread out around the world.
