Punjab Saaf Pani Company – North (PSPC-North) has been mandated by the Government of the Punjab to plan, design, manage and execute innovative safe drinking water solutions to over 56 million people in rural areas of the Punjab province. PSPC-North is looking for a dynamic professional for the following position;
Manager Information Technology will be responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation and use of Information technology, GIS and SCADA systems. He/ she will tackle technology problems and ensure timely upgrades and modifications.
Strategic
1. Prepare strategic and operational plans for the Information Technology section in collaboration with Strategic Management & Planning department.
2. Develop a departmental annual work plan and financial budget in collaboration with Strategic Management & Planning department and monitor their implementation in line with the business plan.
3. Formulate and implement long term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost effective information technologies, GIS and SCADA systems.
4. Coordinate with the Finance department for the finalization of department’s budget.
5. Recommend the most effective GIS system for the company’s use.
Management
6. Develop the IT policies and review the disaster recovery and back-up procedures, and information security and control structures implemented.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures; and oversee the deployment and maintenance of all hardware and software.
Review performance reports of IT systems prepared by AM IT.
- Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
2. Provide expertise and support during system upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance
3. Develop standard operating procedures and best practices including provision of written protocols and guidance to all office personnel.
4. Regularly evaluate the functionality of GIS systems and review the GIS database.
5. Develop and maintain design standards, templates and tools for the SCADA networking and security for individual project implementations.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of SCADA.
- Ensure successful application of company’s servers and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Other Responsibilities
8. Develop a schedule for troubleshooting, upgrading and security backups of hardware and software system.
9. Ensure secure access to the network for remote users and secure data from internal and external attack.
10. Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and determine what new technological solutions and implementation will meet business and system requirements.
11. Periodically review the performance reports of work plans (i.e., budgeted vs actual targets) received from the Assistant Managers of IT, GIS and SCADA.
