Purpose & Background of the Position:

“This position is being hired for a WFP funded emergency flood relief project focused on Cash Based Transfers in District DG Khan. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily/weekly Plan according to the schedule agreed with donor and country office.
  • Assist in coordinating and conducting the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of project activities related to forestry and livelihoods (Restoring household level income generation, small livelihoods assets creation, rehabilitation/construction of communal agricultural /forestry assets, nursery raising and plantation etc). 
  • Support capacity building activities for beneficiaries and community groups. With the provision of livelihoods assets, beneficiaries and community groups are to be provided trainings on the usage and functioning of the same, Livelihoods Officer will be lead for developing a capacity building plan for rollout of trainings.
  • Carry out different types of need assessments and surveys as and when required for the project implementation. 
  • Carry out market related assessments, different analysis of agricultural value chains, comparative economic analysis of different crops and compiling of reports. 
  • Implement project activities like development of village development plans, enterprise development and assess the situation for the innovative schemes in the livelihood sector. Focusing the support on entrepreneurial youth and women, Livelihoods Officer will support formation of livelihoods related groups and their functioning.
  • Oversee the maintenance and submission of project management tools to ensure quality implementation of all agriculture projects and activities in a timely fashion. 
  • Develop case studies and success stories of training participants. 
  • Provide technical backstopping to beneficiaries and community groups on implementation of livelihoods schemes and communal infrastructure rehabilitation.
  • Develop and submit regular updates and program related reports as required. The frequency will depend on the needs realized by Qatar Charity and the donor (WFP).

Job Specifications

  • A relevant master’s in agriculture/forestry (Mandatory)
  • Having knowledge of humanitarian and development issues as well as understanding of the social, political, and economic context of Pakistan.
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in relevant field with proven experience of leading and conducting surveys, SWOT analysis and designing of livelihoods programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate an intrinsic and strategic understanding of streamlining value chain, enterprises/CBO/business associations establishment, promoting economic opportunities (especially for women)
