Reports To: Senior Electrical Engineer or Engineering Manager

Job Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will focus on the design, prototyping, and development of electrical systems and circuits. This role involves close collaboration with a team of engineers to conceptualize innovative electrical solutions, develop prototypes for new technologies, and contribute throughout the entire development lifecycle of our products.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1.     Project Management:   Oversee all electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

2.     Team Leadership:   Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development.

3.     Design and Development:   Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems, including PCBs, circuits, and wiring harnesses.

4.     Technical Expertise:   Provide technical leadership in all areas of electrical engineering, including power systems, analog and digital electronics, embedded systems, and controls.

5.     Problem Solving:   Troubleshoot complex electrical engineering issues and develop effective solutions.

6.     Documentation:   Oversee the creation and maintenance of all necessary documentation such as system designs, circuit diagrams, BOMs, and test reports.

7.     Quality Assurance:   Implement and uphold high-quality standards and procedures for electrical engineering, ensuring compliance with industry and company regulations.

8.     Risk Assessment:   Identify potential risks associated with the design, development, and use of electrical systems and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

9.     Budget Management:   Manage budget and resources for electrical engineering projects, making sure that all activities are financially viable and efficient.

10.     Collaboration:   Collaborate with other teams such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, production, and procurement to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems.

11.     Vendor Management:   Interact with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the best quality components are procured at the most cost-effective prices.

12.     Continuous Improvement:   Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and introduce new technologies and methodologies to the team and the wider organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

13.     Safety Compliance:   Ensure all electrical systems and procedures adhere to safety regulations, protecting employees and equipment.

14.     Customer Interface:   Interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure their needs are met.

15.     Training:   Train team members and other staff on electrical systems and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.

4. Familiarity with circuit design software for electrical design and PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, Proteus, etc.).

5. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred:

1. Experience with circuit prototyping tools and techniques.

2. Proficiency in PCB design and layout.

3. Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.

4. Experience in programming microcontrollers firmware.

5. Experience in analyzing circuits using lab equipment such as oscilloscope, function generator, and power supply.
