Job Purpose:
The UI Developer is responsible for utilizing HTML, CSS and jQuery to develop effective user interfaces on the company’s websites. The UI Developer will work with the Application Development team to create innovative solutions to web design issues to help make the website more visually appealing and enhance usability.
Essential Functions:
Use languages like HTML, CSS, PHP, Bootstrap, JavaScript, JQuery, and Ajax to create user-friendly and mobile responsive web pages optimized for Mobile.
Understand concepts of populating data through API calls and converting data into usable front end information
Maintain and improve website
Optimize applications for maximum speed
Collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability
Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
Write functional requirement documents and guides
Create quality mockups and prototypes
Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
Understands, displays, and embraces the company’s “culture”
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience/Training/Education:
Required:
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Proficient understanding of Ajax, REST, JSON
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Proven work experience as a Front-end developer, minimum 2 years’ working experience
Hands on experience with markup languages, minimum 1 year’s working experience
In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and content management systems
An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated history of strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, team player
Adaptable to change, enjoys fast-paced and challenging environment
