Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Assistant Professor in English to join its academic faculty. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. from an institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission and demonstrates a strong commitment to both teaching and research. The Assistant Professor is responsible for delivering a required number of courses, engaging students through effective presentation and communication techniques, and ensuring high standards in student assessment. Participation in seminars, conferences, and scholarly publishing is essential to contribute to the academic advancement of both the department and university.
In addition to classroom instruction and research activities, the Assistant Professor actively participates in departmental functions and supports the Head of Department in managing routine academic operations. While this role does not involve managing a team, it requires excellent collaboration and organizational skills to contribute positively to the academic environment and departmental success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate learning by teaching assigned English courses as per the curriculum requirements.
- Develop and update course materials to ensure content relevance and alignment with current academic standards.
- Conduct student assessments, including exams, assignments, and presentations, to evaluate learning outcomes effectively.
- Prepare and present seminars and participate in academic conferences to share research findings and enhance professional development.
- Publish research papers in reputable academic journals to contribute to the field of English studies.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings and academic committees to support governance and continuous improvement.
- Assist the Head of Department in planning and managing daily academic tasks and departmental activities.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of English literature and language to maintain teaching excellence.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students to foster their educational growth and success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum design and academic program development.
