Riphah International University is seeking an experienced Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice to join its academic team. The successful candidate will teach and develop undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, and Pharmacy Practice. This role entails delivering lectures, facilitating clinical education, supervising student research, and engaging in scholarly activities to advance both academic and clinical knowledge in the field. The applicant must demonstrate strong expertise in patient counseling, medication management, and evidence-based medicine, alongside the ability to employ innovative teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Assistant Professor will contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and institutional growth initiatives within the university. The role requires active collaboration with healthcare institutions to promote medication safety and rational drug use and support students in clinical training and mentorship. The position demands a commitment to research excellence, including publishing work in reputable journals and participating in academic conferences. Candidates should possess a Pharm-D and a PhD in Pharmacy Practice or related fields, with at least six years of combined teaching, clinical, and research experience. This position does not include team management duties but requires strong collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, and related subjects, developing comprehensive course materials and assessments aligned with academic standards.
- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, case-based discussions, and practical sessions using innovative teaching methods and educational technologies to improve learning effectiveness.
- Supervise student clinical rotations, clerkships, and experiential learning programs, facilitating the practical application of pharmaceutical knowledge within patient care settings.
- Coordinate clinical training activities in collaboration with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations to ensure quality experiential education.
- Promote medication safety, rational drug use, and evidence-based healthcare practices among students and professional communities.
- Conduct and publish research in Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, and Health Outcomes, contributing to knowledge advancement and academic discourse.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences, and seek research collaborations and funding opportunities to support scholarly work.
- Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations, providing academic guidance and fostering high research standards.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, review, and enhancement to ensure alignment with accreditation requirements and evolving professional standards.
- Contribute to program assessment, quality assurance, and accreditation activities as part of institutional quality enhancement efforts.
- Develop innovative instructional resources and assessment methods to support student learning and evaluation.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, supporting their research activities, clinical practice development, and career planning.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university committees to contribute to strategic planning, seminar organization, and professional development initiatives.
- Support accreditation processes, institutional rankings, and quality assurance frameworks to promote academic excellence.
- Establish professional collaborations with healthcare institutions, pharmacies, and relevant organizations to enhance educational and community health outcomes.
- Participate in community health awareness programs and patient counseling initiatives promoting the role of pharmacists in healthcare improvement.
