Riphah International University seeks an experienced Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in curriculum development, clinical education, and evidence-based practice. This role involves designing instructional materials, delivering lectures and clinical demonstrations, and supervising students during their clinical training. The candidate must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with a PhD in Physical Therapy or related fields, along with a proven record in research and academic contributions.
Additionally, this role requires active participation in research and scholarly activities, including publishing and presenting research in national and international forums. The Assistant Professor will also collaborate in curriculum development, quality assurance measures, and institutional service such as accreditation and community outreach. While this position does not involve managing a team, it demands coordination with healthcare organizations for clinical placements and continuous contributions to departmental strategic initiatives. The role requires a minimum of five years of relevant teaching, clinical, and research experience in Physical Therapy, with emphasis on clinical supervision and student mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, using effective instructional design and educational technologies.
- Develop detailed course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with academic standards and accreditation requirements.
- Deliver engaging lectures, laboratory demonstrations, practical sessions, and supervise clinical education to facilitate application of theoretical knowledge in real settings.
- Assess student performance rigorously and provide constructive academic feedback to support their learning and professional development.
- Supervise students during clinical rotations, internships, and practical training, ensuring adherence to ethical and clinical standards.
- Coordinate with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and healthcare organizations to secure clinical placement opportunities and maintain high standards in clinical education.
- Conduct impactful research in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences; publish articles in recognized journals and present findings at academic and professional forums.
- Mentor students in research projects, clinical practice, theses, and dissertations, fostering professional ethics and lifelong learning.
- Participate actively in curriculum design, review, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with higher education regulatory frameworks.
- Engage in academic quality assurance and program assessment activities to enhance teaching and curriculum effectiveness.
- Provide academic advising and career guidance to students, supporting their professional growth and development in physical therapy.
- Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university committees; assist with accreditation, ranking, and quality enhancement activities.
- Organize and participate in workshops, seminars, conferences, and community outreach programs related to Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences.
- Support the strategic academic development and planning initiatives within the department to foster growth and innovation.
