The position focuses on advancing mathematical knowledge through rigorous research and high-quality teaching with an emphasis on applied mathematics, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling. The Associate Professor is responsible for securing research funding, writing grant proposals, and managing projects to enhance the research profile of the department. The role also involves collaborating across disciplines to promote innovative research initiatives and providing academic guidance to students pursuing MS, MPhil, and PhD degrees. Excellence in curriculum development, academic writing, and pedagogical techniques ensures the maintenance of high educational standards and contribution to institutional objectives, including departmental and university-wide development goals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in advanced mathematics and related areas.
- Conduct original research in mathematics focusing on areas such as mathematical modeling, optimization algorithms, and applied mathematics.
- Publish high-quality research articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and participate in scholarly academic conferences.
- Supervise and mentor MS, MPhil, and PhD students throughout their research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Develop and update curricula to ensure alignment with contemporary academic and industry standards.
- Apply appropriate mathematical software tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, and SPSS, for research and instructional purposes.
- Prepare and submit research grant proposals and manage funded projects effectively to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Engage in collaborative research initiatives that expand departmental research capabilities and academic partnerships.
- Contribute to academic writing, including grant writing and publication efforts, to support departmental research goals.
- Integrate pedagogical techniques to improve teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
- Participate in department and university committees to support academic governance and institutional development.
- Evaluate and incorporate feedback from students and peers to enhance teaching quality and academic programs.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards in research and academic conduct in compliance with regulatory body guidelines.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as research output, student supervision, and curriculum innovation.
