Riphah International University is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Lecturer in Computer Engineering & Robotics to join its academic staff. The role requires delivering high-quality instruction and mentoring to undergraduate students in computer engineering and robotics disciplines. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in robotics systems, embedded systems, control systems, and programming languages such as C/C++ and Python. This position focuses on curriculum development, laboratory management, and supervising student projects, aiming to foster technical excellence and applied innovation in engineering education. The candidate must hold an MS/MPhil degree in a relevant field with demonstrated experience in teaching, laboratory work, or industry. An ongoing or completed PhD is considered advantageous.
This role involves hands-on engagement with robotics platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, and ROS, supporting students in practical application through project-based learning. The Lecturer will coordinate laboratory activities, ensure adherence to good laboratory practices, utilize simulation tools and educational technology platforms for instructional design, and contribute actively to academic and departmental initiatives. The position does not include managing a team but requires independent oversight of lab work and effective supervision of final year projects to enhance student outcomes and departmental growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in computer engineering and robotics, ensuring alignment with academic standards and curriculum goals.
- Design, update, and improve course curricula by incorporating the latest developments in robotics systems, embedded systems, and control methodologies.
- Manage laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, scheduling, and compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) protocols.
- Supervise and mentor students in final year projects (FYPs), guiding research methodologies and providing technical assistance in hardware and software implementations.
- Utilize simulation tools, MATLAB, and instructional design models such as ADDIE to enhance learning experiences and support diverse student learning styles.
- Facilitate hands-on training with robotics platforms, sensors, actuators, and automation systems, ensuring students gain practical skills in line with industry standards.
- Apply digital signal processing (DSP) techniques, including Fourier Transform methods, in instructional and research activities.
- Employ learning management systems and educational technology platforms to organize course materials, assignments, and assessments effectively.
- Collaborate with faculty and department members in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including curriculum enhancement and laboratory innovation.
- Engage in relevant applied research and contribute to academic publications and conferences to promote Riphah International University's research profile.
- Provide academic advising and career development support to students, helping them navigate educational pathways and professional opportunities.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university events, contributing to the academic communitys vibrancy and collaboration.
- Ensure consistent evaluation of teaching effectiveness through student feedback and adapt instructional methods to optimize learning outcomes.
