The incumbent must maintain accurate network documentation and inventories, apply best practices in backup and disaster recovery, and stay updated on emerging technologies. With at least three years of experience in network administration, the ideal candidate holds a bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field and possesses comprehensive knowledge of network configuration, system administration, and secure network operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure continuous and secure connectivity.
- Monitor network performance using various tools to guarantee system availability and resolve any identified bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose network issues, including outages and connectivity failures, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), virtual private networks (VPN), and apply appropriate internet security protocols.
- Implement and maintain network security measures such as firewall configuration and monitoring to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configuration settings, inventory records, and change logs.
- Provide technical support for network-related incidents and queries to users and departments, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Configure and maintain backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to protect network data and enable rapid restoration in case of failure.
- Utilize network packet analysis and monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns, detect anomalies, and support network optimization efforts.
- Administer and support Linux systems within the network infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and security compliance.
- Apply knowledge of Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos for configuring and managing network devices, leveraging SNMP for monitoring and management.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery and data replication strategies to safeguard critical network data and infrastructure.
