Riphah International University seeks a highly qualified and experienced Professor of Electrical Engineering with expertise in biomedical engineering applications. The ideal candidate holds a PhD from an HEC-recognized institution, specializing preferably in medical imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics, or bioinstrumentation. With at least 15 years of combined experience in teaching, research, and industry within biomedical engineering, the professor will be dedicated to advancing education and innovation in the field. This role involves delivering high-quality lectures, supervising student projects, and contributing to the universitys research output and curriculum development. Although this position does not include team management responsibilities, close collaboration with faculty members and departments across engineering and healthcare disciplines is essential to foster a multidisciplinary learning environment.
The professor will demonstrate strong proficiency in biomedical systems, medical devices, and engineering principles relevant to healthcare technologies. They will apply their skills in laboratory experimentation and technical writing to guide students through academic and practical challenges. The position demands a commitment to research excellence, evidenced by publications in recognized journals and involvement in applied and collaborative projects. The successful candidate will also engage in curriculum design and accreditation processes to enhance program quality. Effective communication and presentation skills will support interactions with students, industry partners, and academic peers, promoting a dynamic educational experience aligned with institutional goals.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical Engineering with a focus on biomedical engineering applications, maintaining teaching effectiveness and positive student feedback.
- Develop and update curricula to align with current academic standards, technological advances, and industry requirements, contributing to accreditation procedures and program improvement.
- Conduct original research in biomedical engineering fields such as medical imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics, and bioinstrumentation, producing scholarly publications in recognized journals.
- Supervise and guide student research projects, laboratory work, and theses, fostering innovation and hands-on learning experiences.
- Utilize and demonstrate advanced laboratory experimentation techniques, including electrical circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, control systems, and electromagnetics using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE simulation, and oscilloscopes.
- Employ research methodologies and technical writing skills to prepare grant proposals, reports, and scientific papers.
- Collaborate with healthcare and engineering faculties to integrate multidisciplinary approaches within teaching and research activities.
- Engage with industry partners to facilitate applied research projects, internships, and knowledge transfer relevant to medical devices and healthcare technology.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and technological developments in biomedical instrumentation and healthcare engineering to inform teaching and research strategies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to institutional goals, and support quality assurance processes within the university.
- Apply modern educational technologies and laboratory systems to enhance student learning outcomes and laboratory supervision.
- Promote research innovation and contribute to building a robust academic and scientific community within the university.
