We are a startup creating a new ondemand rideshare/transportation platform to disrupt and quickly grow in the North American market, with potential to expand to other international markets in the future.
A Product Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to researching, designing and marketing products. Their duties include completing market research to find out more about competitor products or customer needs, coordinating a team of product professionals and coordinating with the customer service department to identify potential product improvements or customer suggestions.
Product Manager duties and responsibilities Product Managers are responsible for overseeing and managing the launch and maintenance of the technology product, which can involve:
- Using market research to get ideas for products that customers will want
- Helping to oversee the design and configuration and planning how to market and promote the product to the public
- Defining product marketing communication objectives
- Comparing the company’s products to competitor’s products in order to assess competition in the market
- Working with team to determine pricing and other configurations for the technology platform
- Providing management with analyses and reports and responding to questions and requests from management
- Specifying and overseeing the research needed to determine the needs and desires of customers
- Reviewing and adjusting pricing levels and resource schedules to maintain product availability
- Determine customer support requirements and working with support teams to provide appropriate customer satisfaction.
Experience and skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree (prefer Masters)
- Prior experience as a product manager or junior/associate product manager
- Working effectively with cross-functional teams
- Innovative and entrepreneurial
- Expert at managing tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with software and internet technologies (coding not needed).
- Demonstrable experience launching successful products
- Experience investigating, researching, and analyzing online marketplaces, services, and products.
- Demonstrable leadership abilities
- Adept at managing and maintaining relationships between multifunctional team members
