Job Description

•        Plan and schedule lectures and/or tutorials in a clear, inspiring and motivating manner;

•        Manage and check student’s attendance and assignment scheduling;

•        Follow and implement the assessment plan including the marking of assignments and participating in the internal verification process;

•        Undertake standardization of assessment practice with the team;

•        Apply assessment arrangements to deliver national and international standards;

•        Design, adapt and use appropriate assessment instruments;

•        Identify formative and summative assessment opportunities for the students;

•        Deliver content using effective approaches and support materials;

•        Check student work for authenticity;

•        Assesses student work according to the agreed assessment plan

•        Provides constructive formative feedback to students to promote improvement;

•        Provides interim/summative assessment decisions;

•        Track student achievement and maintain accurate records;

•        Oversee any permitted retakes/resubmissions;

•        Complete any remedial action identified by the internal verifier;

•        Knowledge and experience in relevant aspects of the Subject;

•        Ensure student discipline and maintain high student morale and motivation;

•        Organize, structure, and manage student learning and experience including any necessary preparation for tutorials and seminars;

•        Manage assignments, providing feedback on formative assessment and student records in line with relevant Quality Assurance Procedures;

•        Take part in the monitoring and review of students;

•        Attend Department meetings;

•        Participate in planned professional self-development and team development;

•        Contribute to curriculum development

  • Assisting students to identify their academic values and goals, consistent with their capabilities, interests, and educational backgrounds.
  • Clarifying pertinent information and discussing the implications toward students academic success.
  • Being accessible and available to students to respond to their questions and concerns.
  • Clarifying academic policies, college regulations, program requirements, procedures, and other college information.
  • Maintaining professional integrity, confidentiality, respect, and sensitivity in advising.
  • Helping students define and develop educational plans; assisting in the selection of appropriate course work and opportunities to achieve students goals.
  • Respecting students individual needs and diversity.
  • Assisting students to independently monitor their progress toward achieving their educational and career goals.
  • Being knowledgeable about, promoting and referring students to appropriate campus and community resources and services.
  • Informing students of the roles and responsibilities of the advisor/student relationship.
  • Maintaining currency in academic advising trends and techniques through professional development.
  • Support staff and students for the smooth functioning of the Educational system. You shall ensure that the MIUC curriculum is followed completely and comprehensively with full adherence to MIUC teaching standards and methodology.
