Qualifications
- MBA/MS, Masters from a UK University or PhD is Preferable
- PGD or BTEC qualification (preferable).
EXPERIENCE
- 7-10 years’ experience in educational Sector (Academics) inclusive of 2 years’ experience in corporate sector and working with Higher Education is mandatory.
- Must have at least 3 years teaching experience at university level (permanent/visiting).
- 2 years of experience of working with BTEC qualifications (Pearson/Edexcel) is desirable
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with assessment team to ensure standardization.
- Ensures that an assessment and internal verification plan is in place and operational for all qualifications.
- Confirms the quality of assessment instruments as fit for purpose.
- Advises on the interpretation of national standards.
- Coordinates assessment arrangements including additional sites, if appropriate. Approves and signs the programme assessment plan.
- Ensures an effective system of recording student achievement
- is in place.
- Advises on opportunities for evidence generation and collection.
- Keeps records of the verification process.
- Liaises with the External Examiner (EE) where appropriate.
- Monitors course files.
- Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where necessary.
- Takes part in the formal stages of any appeal.
- Advises programme team on any training needs.
- Approves requested additional assessment opportunities for students.
- Provides feedback to the programme team, senior management and Pearson as required.
- Provides advice and support to Assessors on a regular basis.
- Undertakes internal verification, covering all Assessors and all units, in line with the internal verification plan.
- Checks the quality of assessment to ensure that it is consistent, valid, fair and reliable.
- Confirms whether assessment decisions meet national standards.
- Provides feedback to the Assessor, including action to be taken if assessment decisions are judged to be incorrect.
- Arranges standardization meetings across teams and additional.
- Providing assistance and input to all TMUCs in every work related to the Programmes included in department of Business & Skills.
- Responsible for managing assessment and internal verification of units and qualifications.
