Job Description


  • MBA/MS, Masters from a UK University or PhD is Preferable
  • PGD or BTEC qualification (preferable).


  • 7-10 years’ experience in educational Sector (Academics) inclusive of 2 years’ experience in corporate sector and working with Higher Education is mandatory.
  • Must have at least 3 years teaching experience at university level (permanent/visiting).
  • 2 years of experience of working with BTEC qualifications (Pearson/Edexcel) is desirable


  • Works with assessment team to ensure standardization.
  • Ensures that an assessment and internal verification plan is in place and operational for all qualifications.
  • Confirms the quality of assessment instruments as fit for purpose.
  • Advises on the interpretation of national standards.
  • Coordinates assessment arrangements including additional sites, if appropriate. Approves and signs the programme assessment plan.
  • Ensures an effective system of recording student achievement
  • is in place.
  • Advises on opportunities for evidence generation and collection.
  • Keeps records of the verification process.
  • Liaises with the External Examiner (EE) where appropriate.
  • Monitors course files.
  • Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where necessary.
  • Takes part in the formal stages of any appeal.
  • Advises programme team on any training needs.
  • Approves requested additional assessment opportunities for students.
  • Provides feedback to the programme team, senior management and Pearson as required.
  • Provides advice and support to Assessors on a regular basis.
  • Undertakes internal verification, covering all Assessors and all units, in line with the internal verification plan.
  • Checks the quality of assessment to ensure that it is consistent, valid, fair and reliable.
  • Confirms whether assessment decisions meet national standards.
  • Provides feedback to the Assessor, including action to be taken if assessment decisions are judged to be incorrect.
  • Arranges standardization meetings across teams and additional.
  • Providing assistance and input to all TMUCs in every work related to the Programmes included in department of Business & Skills.
  • Responsible for managing assessment and internal verification of units and qualifications.
