We are looking on behalf of our client(a largest mall in Islamabad a renowned &  growing industry) for the position of Chief Engineer /  HOD of Facilities Management, who will be responsible for maintaining the operation and maintenance of the Engineering systems and Equipment in the Complex.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To direct, oversee and inspect the general maintenance and repair of equipment, installations and systems, through services contractors and the in-house Engineering and maintenance staff ensuring the technical upkeep of the Mall in accordance with the international standards and the strategy planned by the Sardar Group.
  • To upkeep of customer areas and the maintenance of all the facilities in the entire complex, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and equipment maintaining to the international standards.
  • To operate the engineering and building systems and equipment efficiently.
  • Preparing the energy conservation plan, training the teams to implement in all areas of operation.
  • To prepare and implement planned preventive maintenance program of all equipment engineering systems and fixtures.
  • To complete rehabilitation programs or special projects as and when directed by the management.
  • To abreast Engineering Team with international engineering standards, safety standards, compliance regulations and procedures applicable in the operation of Engineering systems and equipment.
  • Conducts walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the Centaurus complex, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Assign and verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovations projects to offices, and employee work areas.
  • Delegate responsibility of any engineering position in absence of staff.
  •  Adhere to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls to include all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules.
  • Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the complex.
  • Inform the AVP technical, The General Managers and department heads, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent, and cost-effective proposals for maintaining same, through daily operations and delivery reports
  • Coordinate inspections of all elevators and escalators with the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Maintains appropriate inventories of the supply of materials and equipment to carry out the normal day to day operating and maintenance requirements of the Complex.
  • Maintains organized and efficient administrative and filing systems for the timely and accurate handling of correspondence, reports, requisitions for purchase, and other administrative requirements of the department.
  • Maintains a well-defined, and organized system within maintenance office for the inventory, maintenance, and storage of all tools, products, materials, and equipment necessary to execute the required activities of the department.
  • Must be available to report to the complex in the event of any emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer. By example such emergencies may include, but not be limited to fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as coordination and supervision of special event requests for space modification, construction of props and employee relations events. Responsible to GMs to for the delivery of maintenance services to ensure operations are not affected.
  • Train team members ensure policies and procedures are understood and followed by the entire staff team.
