Using our Founders UK Healthcare recruitment experience our recruitment operation will serve our UK based customers from our global office network including our exciting centre in Islamabad, Pakistan. We will assist our customer with a range of vital services ranging from recruitment, compliance & administrative services to empower our clients helping them gain a commercial and recruitment advantage in their marketplace.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Assistant to join our busy recruitment team on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Recruitment Manager and MD, this role interacts with all employees as well as external stakeholders and candidates.

The role will be predominantly responsible for processing and administration associated with our Payroll, working closely with the external payroll bureau based in India, outsourced payroll partners but will also support the recruitment professionals and healthcare professionals alike.

Responsibilities and Main Accountabilities

Payroll Related:

  • Facilitate weekly payroll activities, liaising with external payroll bureau
  • Checking for timesheet, worked hours, pay rate and authorisation accuracy prior to final payroll processing
  • Identifying and resolving errors, escalating where appropriate
  • Completion of weekly post payroll tasks and reporting within agreed timelines
  • Maintaining the agency and locum workers payroll portal providing agency worker training after they receive their set-up email
  • Tax code and tax support for our customers such as P45 and P46 advise and support
  • Ensuring all workers timesheets are approved, paid and logged
  • Providing input into pay related activities such as pay rate management, salary accuracy and customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring statutory payments and company schemes are processed appropriately
  • Development of processes, including system automation
  • Managing all pay-related queries and enquiries, providing information on policy and procedures and individual calculation breakdowns as necessary

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in a similar payroll focussed role
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience of working across multiple departments/managers
  • Knowledge of generalist payroll practices
  • High standard of Word, Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Up to date, good working knowledge of payroll legislation PK or UK
  • Highly numerate
  • Experience of working with payroll software packages (Cascade/IRIS preferred but not essential)
  • Great memory and an acute level of attention to detail
  • Ability to to work Monday to Friday, 12:00-21:30 with extra hours as and when necessary
