Possessing knowledge of textile and fabric materials and awareness of toy safety testing and factory compliance audits is important to maintain quality standards and regulatory adherence. The role involves working closely with the technical department for additional support and requires occasional travel to visit suppliers both locally and overseas. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience and will not have direct team management responsibilities but must effectively collaborate across multiple departments and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing activities for Smiffys, Christys, Rubies II, Masquerade, and Party City national accounts, ensuring timely procurement to meet production schedules.
- Prepare and maintain accurate Bill of Materials including all components such as fabrics, trims, and packaging materials.
- Oversee costing for costumes and accessories, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality standards.
- Negotiate prices, shipment schedules, and payment terms with global suppliers to optimize sourcing efficiency and cost control.
- Coordinate closely with the Design team to align product specifications with sourcing plans and requirements.
- Implement and adhere to Critical Path Management processes to track project timelines and mitigate delays.
- Support the Sourcing Director in driving margin improvement and cost-saving initiatives across sourced products.
- Provide sales support as needed to assist with customer inquiries related to sourcing and product availability.
- Ensure compliance with toy safety standards and participate in factory audits to verify supplier adherence to safety and quality regulations.
- Collaborate with the technical department to resolve supply chain or product technical issues promptly and effectively.
- Conduct supplier visits nationally and internationally to assess capabilities, strengthen relationships, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of textiles and fabrics to inform sourcing decisions and product development.
