- MECHANICAL ENGINEER – Design heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) for residential, commercial and educational institutions in compliance with local, state and federal codes.
- Select the appropriate HVAC equipment, prepare the equipment, schedule, details and controls diagrams, and cost estimate.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, electrical, plumbing and structural) to ensure that HVAC system will perform and installed as desired.
- Have the HVAC design approved by building department authority having jurisdiction. Generate reports using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Prepare project proposal, attend site walk and do site survey, job walk and project cost estimation.
- Prepare the necessary project specification documents related to the HVAC design.
- Perform construction administration, attend construction meetings, submittal review, respond to Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Clarification (RFC).
- Perform periodic job walk to ensure construction is as design and provide corrections and sketches for actual field change orders.
- Prepare project closeout documents.
- Record Drawings (as built) and scanned electronic copies.
- Must be proficient with heating and cooling load calculation and CAD software.
