DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for software development, maintaining and troubleshooting applications, the person will also responsible for setting up and maintaining a highly reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The job responsibilities include:
- Establish and maintain best practices around DevOps
- Provide production support on-demand
- Assist teams in troubleshooting system to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions
- Create and manage infrastructure for applications that meet the needs for scalability, reliability and performance
- Ensure solution availability, performance and stability at scale
- Develop and implement instrumentation for monitoring the health and availability of services including fault detection, alerting, triage, and recovery (automated and manual)
- Provide production support on-demand
- Develop, improve, and thoroughly document operational practices and procedures
- Create dashboards and other tools for Project Teams and Engineering Operations to use in day-to-day monitoring and troubleshooting and enhance operational transparency with the project teams
- Drive operational cost reductions through service optimizations and demand-based auto scaling
Requirements:
- Strong experience (2+ years) building and maintaining production systems on AWS using EC2, RDS, S3, ELB, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, Certificate Manager etc. and familiarity interacting with the AWS APIs
- Solid understanding of fundamental technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, networking and security best practices
- Deep understanding of Security (Security Group, NACL)
- Experience analyzing and resolving performance, scalability and reliability issues
- Experience with Internet Information Server (IIS) administration and configuration
- Experience of DevOps with AWS CLI & Lambda
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell is preferred)
- Experience with Internet Information Server (IIS) administration and configuration
- Experience in .Net development stack (C#), Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL scripts
- Azure DevOps (VSTS/TFS) for CICD pipelines.
- Maintain Build and release pipelines and troubleshoot errors/issues.
- Well organized, possess outstanding follow-through and attention to detail
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Independent, self-motivated
