Company Introduction
- We are a startup company that is developing a mobile app in the social media space.
- The app will be aimed at a range of iOS and Android devices including mobile phones, tablet computers and wearable tech.
Job Description
- Your primary responsibility will be to develop, optimize and maintain the iOS version of the application for the range of target devices.
- You will be responsible for integrating the application with the back-end services and working alongside Android developers to ensure consistency across the two platforms.
- Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.
- The job is offered as a two-month contract after which a full-time position will be offered if performance meets expectations.
- This is not a remote position; office space will be provided for you.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize and maintain a complex application for the iOS platform.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Help maintain code quality and organization in shared repository.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing iOS applications.
- Must have published one or more iOS apps in the app store.
- Proficient in Objective-C or Swift, and Cocoa Touch.
- Experience working with Firebase services including Cloud Firestore.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and Mercurial.
- Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
- Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines.
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
