The role will be based in Tharparkar, the overall responsibility is to assist the Base/Program Manager in smooth planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, management, coordination and facilitation of the Education and Child Protection related projects for drought-affected communities in Tharparkar, within the available budget, planned resources, and timelines. S/he will also ensure the implementation of child safeguarding policy at the base and in all SIF projects.
MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
Contribute to Education and Child protection strategy Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
-Support the Education and Child protection department on development and implementation of policies/procedures/strategies about the whole education and inclusion approach, especially for school attendance
Report on the effectiveness of Education policies/procedures/strategies about whole Education attendance and inclusion.
Contribute to Sindh Base Projects’ Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation as per SIF Core Competencies
- Support in developing new proposals about education and child protection focused funding calls
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and managing of Program staff
- Ensure the timely implementation of all project activities and as per the project management and detailed implementation plans
- Make field visits to project locations whenever necessary and ensure the quality implementation of activities
- Meet parents and pupils (regular and unannounced home visits are an essential task of the job) to agree with action to reduce absence and improve attendance
- Monitor and record the outcomes of care plans with parents/pupils to improve attendance, maintain efficient and contemporaneous notes and records
- Support the parents for understanding and fulfilling their legal responsibilities concerning school attendance
- Facilitate communication and link between the parents and the school
- Monitor school attendance data and advise key staff of trends, concerns and referrals
- Maintain secured electronic casework records and paper files
- Develop procurement plan for the project (in coordination with Base Log) and follow the Procurement timelines
- Closely work with procurement and logistics to ensure that required project materials are procured and delivered as per set protocols by SIF
- Record and update the project team and supervisor around the real-time risks and mitigation strategies to reduce the level of risk
- Organize periodical review meetings with MEAL Department and assess project indicators achievement progress
- Organize periodical review meetings with the Finance Department and assess projects’ budget progress
- Ensure community-based complaint response mechanism are developed, implemented and appropriate responses are provided with MEAL Department
Ensure coordination with external stakeholders such as governmental institutions, clusters and SIF partners
- Coordinate with relevant government, non-governmental authorities and key community leaders to provide effective and efficient support
- Represent the Organization at Education and Child protection coordination meetings and contribute to Single Assessment for the development of children contingency plans to build their resilience.
- Work with agencies within and outside Children’s Services to ensure a coordinated approach to improving academy attendance and alternative provision, to support optimal attainment by pupils
Contribute to Reporting and Capitalisation of SIF projects and relevant data
- Prepare periodic progress reports and timely submission to supervisor (including PMP)
- Ensure the project management reporting from initial implementation to the final report submission
- Archive project database and related documents timely
- Produce and interpret various data for maximum impact on raising levels of school attendance
- Gather and record project means of verification including photos, beneficiary consents, success stories/case stories and share with Base Program and Country office teams
- Analyse and capitalize based on the data collected on the needs and issues of identified cases of child protection/violence against children to improve programme delivery and quality.
Contribute to ensure SIF Child Safeguarding Policy implementation
- Understand, adhere and ensure implementation of the organization’s child safeguarding and well-being policies
- Handle sensitive information in line with organization policies
- Undertake duties commensurate with the Safeguarding agenda for children including representing the Organization at Child Protection meetings and conferences to contribute to quorate decision making
- Keep the registration/attendance register in safe place to avoid the access of irrelevant persons to the personal information of children

EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL SKILLS
Bachelor or degree in Project Management, Education, Social work or social sciences
Minimum 2-years of professional experience with NGO in Education, Child protection or Children rights,Experience of project management and eexperience of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) is an asset
Knowledge of international and national child protection, education and safeguarding standards
Knowledge of CHS humanitarian standards
Knowledge of cross-cutting issues considered an asset (disability, gender, inclusion, etc.)
Knowledge and experience in providing presentations and written reports.
Experience in community-based approach and projects
Good level of writing and reporting skills
Previous experience working with donors is an asset
Proficiency in MS Office
Fluency in Sindhi & Urdhu ; knowledge of English is preferred
