Based in South Sudan, this full-time accounting position plays a vital role in managing the company’s financial records and supporting its financial operations within the trading or construction materials sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, preparing detailed financial statements, and working closely with various departments to ensure effective cost control and timely financial reporting. This role demands a candidate with solid accounting experience and proficiency in relevant software, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a complete set of accounts, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with comprehensive management reports.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital, and develop financial forecasts for management review.
- Oversee invoicing processes, credit control, and vendor payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to track costs associated with building material imports and sales.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the trading or construction materials sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems, along with advanced skills in MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working in South Sudan or the East African region is an advantage.
- The company offers a competitive basic salary of USD 1,500.
- Accommodation and meals are provided by the company.
- Annual round-trip airfare expenses are covered.
- Visa and medical expenses are borne by the company.
- Employees are entitled to 30 days of paid leave annually, with leave salary paid after every 11 months of service.
- Working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Saturday (6 days per week).
