As the company enters a new AI-driven phase, it is seeking innovative cybersecurity professionals to enhance its operations, customer experience, and internal systems. The Information Security team is crucial in protecting Careem’s digital ecosystem, with the Cybersecurity Operations function specializing in advanced threat detection, monitoring, and incident response to safeguard the super app, its services, and sensitive data from evolving cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of security analysts and engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and proactive defense.
- Champion the adoption of automation and orchestration (SOAR) to streamline incident response processes, reduce manual workloads, and accelerate threat detection by automating repetitive tasks.
- Leverage machine learning and AI to advance threat detection capabilities beyond traditional rule-based systems, using data strategically to predict and prevent sophisticated cyber attacks.
- Develop and implement proactive threat hunting strategies to identify vulnerabilities and adversaries before alerts are triggered.
- Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the Cyber Fusion Center, ensuring scalable security operations that align with Careem’s rapid growth. Take full ownership of security tools, technologies, and strategic initiatives.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, IT, legal, and fraud teams to embed security into all stages of development and incident response, breaking down organizational silos.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven success in leading Security Operations teams or Cyber Fusion Centers, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong expertise in SIEM, EDR, network security, cloud security, and threat intelligence platforms, with a solid understanding of modern security technology stacks.
- A passion for automation and demonstrated ability to implement it effectively to enhance operational efficiency; experience with SOAR platforms is highly desirable.
- Enthusiasm for AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity, with practical experience or innovative ideas for applying these technologies to real-world security challenges.
