Senior Cybersecurity Operations Engineering Manager

The Information Security team plays a vital role in protecting Careem’s digital ecosystem by building and managing advanced detection, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of security analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and proactive defense. Drive the adoption of automation and orchestration (SOAR) to streamline incident response, reduce manual tasks, and accelerate threat detection by automating repetitive processes wherever possible. Utilize machine learning and AI to improve threat detection beyond traditional rule-based systems, anticipating and preventing sophisticated cyberattacks. Develop and implement proactive threat hunting strategies to identify vulnerabilities and adversaries before alerts occur. Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the Cyber Fusion Center, ensuring scalable security operations that align with the rapid growth of Careem’s Super App. Manage security tools, technologies, and strategic initiatives with a leadership mindset. Collaborate closely with engineering, IT, legal, and fraud teams to integrate security seamlessly into all development and response processes.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven success in leading Security Operations teams or Cyber Fusion Centers, with experience in building and managing high-caliber talent. Deep expertise in SIEM, EDR, network security, cloud security, and threat intelligence platforms, along with comprehensive knowledge of modern security technology stacks. A strong passion for automation and practical experience implementing it to enhance efficiency; familiarity with SOAR platforms is highly desirable. Enthusiasm for AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity, supported by relevant experience or innovative ideas for real-world implementation.
