The Internal Audit team is integral to supporting Careem’s growth by delivering independent insights into risk management, strengthening controls, and driving operational improvements. This team blends traditional audit practices with data-driven approaches to build a resilient and sustainable organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute comprehensive audit projects in line with the internal audit plan.
- Develop audit scopes, perform risk assessments, and identify critical control areas for evaluation.
- Utilize data analytics, SQL, and emerging AI technologies to enhance audit efficiency, automate testing, and detect patterns or anomalies.
- Collaborate with various business units to assess process risks, recommend control improvements, and oversee remediation efforts.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and documentation standards.
- Participate in special reviews, investigations, and advisory projects as required.
- Prepare and present high-quality audit reports with actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and report on the status of audit findings, ensuring timely and effective resolution of agreed-upon actions.
- Stay updated on evolving risks, technologies, and industry trends relevant to Careem’s operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk advisory roles.
- Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset to independently drive audits and initiatives.

- Experience with Big 4 firms in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, or Technology Risk, or a background in tech-driven or regional enterprises is highly desirable.
