Senior Site Reliability Engineer I

The Infra FinOps Team is essential in maintaining and enhancing internal tools for cloud cost monitoring and management, helping teams stay within AWS budgets by providing visibility, governance, and actionable insights to optimize infrastructure spending.

Key Responsibilities

- Own, design, and maintain internal FinOps tools focused on AWS cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to provide cost visibility and implement governance aligned with AWS budgets.
- Develop and maintain anomaly detection systems to identify unusual cost patterns early, ensuring payment corresponds to actual usage.
- Automate data collection pipelines and cost analytics workflows using AWS services such as Athena, Glue, QuickSight, and S3.
- Continuously enhance cost monitoring dashboards to improve data reliability and coverage.
- Work with internal teams to enforce governance and budgeting policies through automation and alerting systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of FinOps tools and systems.

Required Qualifications

- At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, preferably with exposure to FinOps or cloud cost management.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, pricing models, and cost optimization strategies.
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and dashboarding tools such as Athena and QuickSight.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, Glue, QuickSight, and S3 for cost data analysis and visualization.
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals, including clusters, workloads, and scaling impacts on cost and resource utilization.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, preferably Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, alongside monitoring and alerting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect technical metrics to financial outcomes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering and finance teams.
