Key Responsibilities:
- Own, design, and maintain internal FinOps tools focused on AWS cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to provide cost visibility and governance, ensuring compliance with AWS budgets.
- Develop and maintain anomaly detection systems to identify unusual spending patterns early, ensuring payment aligns with actual usage.
- Automate data collection pipelines and cost analytics workflows using AWS services such as Athena, Glue, QuickSight, and S3.
- Continuously improve cost monitoring dashboards to enhance data accuracy, reliability, and coverage.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to enforce governance and budgeting policies through automation and alerting mechanisms.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of FinOps tools and systems.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, ideally with exposure to FinOps or cloud cost management.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, pricing models, and cost optimization strategies.
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and dashboarding tools like Athena and QuickSight.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, Glue, QuickSight, and S3 for cost data analysis and visualization.
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals, including cluster management, workload orchestration, and the cost/resource impact of scaling.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, preferably Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, along with monitoring and alerting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect technical metrics to financial outcomes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering and finance teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information:
- Familiarity with FinOps principles, tagging strategies, and budgeting best practices is advantageous.
