TEKHQS is looking for an experienced Magento & WooCommerce Developer to join its growing technology team. This senior-level role requires a hands-on professional with deep expertise in developing, customizing, and optimizing eCommerce platforms using Magento 2.x and WooCommerce. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with design, marketing, and operations teams to improve site performance, scalability, and user experience, while delivering robust, scalable solutions tailored to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Customization:
Design, develop, and maintain Magento and WooCommerce websites, including custom themes, extensions, and plugins. Modify and extend platform functionalities in line with eCommerce best practices and scalability requirements.
Integration & API Management:
Integrate third-party systems such as payment gateways, CRM solutions, and shipping APIs. Develop and manage RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between platforms. Lead complex migrations between Magento and WooCommerce, maintaining data integrity and minimizing downtime.
Performance Optimization:
Improve website speed and responsiveness through caching strategies, database tuning, and code enhancements. Conduct thorough code reviews, debugging, and quality assurance testing. Implement advanced caching and indexing techniques to support high-traffic environments.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership:
Partner with UI/UX designers, marketing teams, and fellow developers to roll out new features. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers. Participate in client meetings to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and other relevant eCommerce security standards. Apply security patches and system updates promptly, monitor for vulnerabilities, and maintain secure environments across all deployments and integrations.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Magento 2.x and WooCommerce development. Proven track record managing end-to-end eCommerce projects.
Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and AJAX. In-depth knowledge of Magento architecture, module development, and custom theming. Extensive experience with WooCommerce hooks, filters, and plugin development. Familiarity with Git version control and deployment best practices. Basic understanding of server environments such as Apache and Nginx, along with cloud hosting configurations.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Magento 2 Certified Developer status is highly desirable. Experience with headless commerce architectures or front-end frameworks like React or Vue is a plus. Familiarity with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms is advantageous.
