General Position Summary

The Senior Technical Officer PPM will assist the Technical Advisor Enhanced Case Finding (ECF) in managing technical aspects of the PPM overall and particularly of ECF (large private hospitals) component of the TB program as per the operational guidelines. The GPs, large private hospitals, NGO-Led hospitals and Parastatal hospitals will be engaged in TB Program to provide quality TB care services in private sector.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with ECF Advisor for effective implementation of PPM component with special focus on large private hospitals and parastatal hospitals.  
  • Support in developing technical documents, guidelines and presentations for PPM
  • Provide technical assistance to ensure the quality of services, including support in implementing guidelines, new algorithms, and standard operating procedures, remain up to date with international TB innovations, research and best practices
  • Coordinate with SRs to ensure GPs and hospitals are selected as per the approved criteria
  • Support SRs in mapping and selection of GPs and hospitals, review mapping documents and scoring sheets and provide feedback to SRs in line with mapping guidelines
  • Conduct frequent field visits to review the performance of ECF components and develop action plans for any improvements in coordination with SRs
  • Work closely with data management team to conduct analysis of different indicators of PPM, identify gaps and prepare action plans to address these gaps
  • Assist ECF Advisor in building program staff capacity with regards to technical aspects of ECF components
  • Participate in internal and external technical meetings and discussions
  • Work closely with ECF Advisor and MEL team for selection of consultant for end term evaluation and cost effectiveness study and ensure timely implementation of both studies 
  • Conduct results’ dissemination events with key stakeholders for end of project evaluation and cost-effectiveness study
  • Work closely with data management unit and support timely and accurate use of data use to improve the quality TB activities and to ensure project meet its targets
  • Conduct monthly meetings with ECF Advisor to share update and seek guidance to timely resolve issues

Reports Directly To: ECF Advisor

Works Directly With: PPM Manager, MEL team, PR Unit

Minimum Qualification & Skills

  • MBBS or Master’s in public health with at least three years’ experience in TB Program
  • Experience of working in public health is highly desirable
  • Experience in the planning and facilitation of trainings, and excellent communication and writing skills required.
