Assignment Brief
UNDP will rehabilitate 300 schools and around 250 medium scale infrastructure projects including Health and Social service Facilities, Drinking Water Supply schemes, Rural Link Roads Causeways, small bridges, Irrigation Channels and various other in Khyber, SWA, NWA, Orakzai & Kurram agencies in support of UNDP Sustainable Return and Rehabilitation Strategy. The responsibility of Civil engineer would be to check approved cost estimate versus actual work done, detailed measurement of work executed, quality validation, prepare detailed architectural & structural drawings, BOQs, specifications and engineering estimates of these 300 schools and 250 infrastructure projects. Various spot checks needs to be performed at various time and close scrutiny of contractors are required with regard to actual work done versus cost estimates and quality validation.
The candidate should possess a minimum Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering along with relevant experience in design of civil structures including infrastructure services such as buildings, water supply & sanitation.
Expected Outputs and Deliverables
Presenting final proposal to the senior manager for approving and commencing construction work.
Carry out damage assessment and submit inspection reports to senior manager of various infrastructure schemes.
Preparing Estimates and drawings as per technical specification ensuring adherence to applicable construction and/or engineering standards and that works are completed to the highest standards.
Produce high quality pictures of rehabilitation sites as per donor requirements.
Assist in building and developing capacity of other technical personnel in assessment and supervision techniques including good practices and troubleshooting methods.
Timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders on project progress and Quality of work.
Verifying contractors bill of quantities and documenting with a proof.
